Lotte World – Seoul

Posted on

Located in the heart of the city, Lotte World is the perfect spot for entertainment and sightseeing. It is a theme park filled with thrilling rides, an ice rink, different kinds of parades as well as a folk museum, a lake, and much more. About 6,000,000 visitors are welcomed every year, and about 10% of the visitors are foreigners. The structure inside makes use of the natural sunlight, and it is open for visitors all year round, regardless of the weather.

Lotte World is divided into a ‘’Adventure’ theme once you are inside the building, and outside is a ‘Magic Island’ theme next to Seokchonhosu Lake. Lotte World Adventure has certain districts representing different countries with various kinds of facilities and souvenir shops. You can enjoy watching parades, numerous films, laser shows, and a variety of international cuisines even during the holidays. Magic Island is situated outdoors, where the dazzling Magic Castle is located as well as thrilling high-altitude rides that you can’t experience elsewhere. Be sure to also check out the peaceful walking trail around the lake.

One of the major reasons tourists are attracted to Lotte World is the amusement rides. The Gyro Drop and Gyro Swing are the top pleasers– a steep drop with an altitude of 70 meters, or taste the thrilling sensation of being inside a tornado. You may need to take your shoes off before you get on since mostly likely they will come off during the ride. The Flume Ride is a long boat with a high-altitude wave, and the Spanish Pirate Ship swings at an electrifying 75 degrees. Besides the excitement of these rides, Lotte World also contains a variety of parades and laser shows. The 200 performers sing and dance to music in the World Carnival Parade, which adds excitement to the theme park. The parade takes place at 2 pm and 7:30 pm, and the laser show is held in the late evening at 9:30 pm

After enjoying the rides, don’t miss skating on the ice rink as well as visiting the museum. The ice rink is situated indoors on the B3 floor, and is opened throughout the year. Its pleasant atmosphere is perfect for family and couples to enjoy. The hours are from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm, and runs even during the holidays. Its facilities include a restaurant, a ticket booth, a snack bar, a sports shop, a skate rental service, and a changing room.

Folk Museum

Opened in January of 1989 in Jamsil, the place of Songpa Market and Songpa-sandaenori, Lotte Folk Museum was born as a cultural service of Lotte Group for the people. It is a lively cultural space with 5000 years of history and tradition of Korea that is easily accessible and enjoyable to the people. Traditionally, museum’s roles were collection, storage and exhibition of historical remains, but the current role includes being a place of interests to the tourists in order to expose people of the world to our history and tradition that is easily accessible and enjoyable to the public. Thus, the Folk Museum transcends the concept of showcase exhibitions, and uses various exhibition techniques such as diorama, miniature village, restored historical remains so that Koreans and foreigners alike can understand our history easily without prior special knowledge.

There are performance stages for traditional music and dance, and a market street with traditional Korean foods, recreating the lively atmosphere of the traditional markets so that visitors can enjoy the traditional culture through direct experience.

The history and traditional culture of a country cannot be understood through a short time of learning and watching. It can be understood properly when a person can experience and feel it directly while enjoying it. Lotte World Folk Museum is a cultural space and tourist attraction for natural understanding of our history and traditional culture while enjoying it. We will strive to improve ourselves in the future.

Korean Royal Palace

Posted on

Gyeongbokgung Palace (Hangul : 경복궁, Hanja : 景福宮)

As the head palace of the Joseon Dynasty, Gyeongbokgung is the largest among the five temple of the dynasty. Established in 1395, Gyeongbokgung had been the political center of the Joseon Dynasty, symbolizing the sovereign authority of its rulers. The palace has Baegaksan Mountain on the north, and the large street outside its main entrance gate, Gwanghwamun Gate, was occupied by the government offices of six ministries, forming the heart of the walled capital of the dynasty. The palace was burnt down in 1592 during the seven-year war ignited by the Japanese invasion and was rebuilt in 1867 when Joseon was under the rule of King Gojong. Inside the palace are numerous important and valuable relics of the dynasty such as Geunjeongjeon Hall and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, both of which are national treasures, as well as other facilities occupied by the royal family and nobility.

Changdeokgung Palace (Hangul : 창덕궁, Hanja : 昌德宮)

Changdeokgung has been widely admired for preserving its original natural and architectural beauty.Changdeokgung was built in 1405 as the second palace of the Joseon Dynasty by King Taejong. Although it was initially built as a sub-palace to the main Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was where the king official resided, as many rulers of the dynasty chose Changdeokgung as their official residence, it gradually became the non-official main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Today, the palace is regarded as the most Korean-styled palace among all others. The architecture and landscape is in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings.

Changgyeonggung Palace (Hangul : 창경궁, Hanja :昌慶宮)

Changgyeonggung Palace embraces many heartwarming stories of the Joseon Dynasty royal families, and painful and sorrowful memories of wars. Changgyeonggung was built in 1483 (completed in 1484) when Joseon was under the reign of King Seongjong, the dynasty’s 9th ruler. It was built to the east of Changeokgung Palace without walls nor partitions dividing the two palaces, and together they were called “Dongwol,” East Palace. Although it was not widely used in the beginning, after the Japanese Invasion of 1592, as Changdeokgung became the head palace, Changgyeonggung naturally became the secondary palace and served as the residence for the royal family. As the architectural and landscape layout shows, it was constructed to create a comfortable living space while maintaining harmony with the surrounding geographical features.

Deoksugung Palace (Hangul : 덕수궁, Hanja : 德壽宮)

Deoksugung is the most representative palace of modern history. It serves as evidence and proof of the late Joseon era. It was originally the private residence of Prince Wolsan, elder brother of King Seongjong (9th ruler of Joseon), but was later designated as the head palace of the Great Han Empire. During the Japanese Invasion of 1592, which lasted for seven years, all the palaces of the dynasty were destroyed and King Seonjo had to move to his brother’s residence. The residence served as a temporary palace until 1611 (3rd year of King Gwanghaegun’s reign), when King Gwanghaegun officially named it “Gyeongungung Palace”. With the founding of the Great Han Empire in 1897, Gyeongungung became the center stage of Korean modern history, and ten years later, in 1907, it received its current name, Deoksugung Palace. In its heyday, the palace was three times larger than today’s size, but during Japanese colonial rule, after the death of King Gojong, a big part of it was sold.

The area where the rituals were held was composed of Jeongjeon, Yeongnyeongjeon, Gongsindang and Chilsadang while the preparation area comprised Jaegung, Hyangdaecheong, Akgongcheong and Jeonsacheong. My New Friend : Kago

Posted on

I met a new friend from Japan and his name is Kago. He stay here in Indonesia to study about Bactrocera dorsalis or we usually called fruit fly. Huwaaaa… he came so far to study that thing? Oh yeah. He’s really excited about insect. How about me??? Nah, not really. It’s because I’m wasting so much time with insect (specially Nilaprvata lugens) doesn’t mean I really love insect right, hahaha… I don’t know if my supervisor of my project read this, but I enjoy to do my project instead 🙂

Anyway, me, Nunuy, Mamet, and Buruy invite him to went around Bandung yesterday. Mamet ask him where he want to go, but he seems like didn’t know Bandung so well except Asia Africa road where Asia Africa Conference was held. Sooo, we started with Alun-alun Bandung first then Stasion Bandung, Asia Africa road, Padjadjaran University at Dipati Ukur, and went back to Jatinangor.

I really envy him specially he already graduated and study fruit fly for his master degree, and I’m here struggling with bachelor degree whereas we have the same age. Arrrgh… why is Japanese people always one step ahead from us? I really envy, really really envy TT_TT

He told me about his daily life at Japan. His schedule from Monday to Friday, 7am-6pm is full with study and other (science) activity at campus. He studied more credit and subject than us and seems like he doesn’t have his own time to leisure. I don’t know how he can survive so far or maybe it was just a usual thing for him. And I was like ‘Waaa… sugoi ne… you are really a hard worker.’ I want to be as discipline and hard worker as him.

Then Buruy taught  him about bahasa Indonesia and bahasa Sunda (Sundanese and other West Java people generally use this language) a little. He repeated and voilaaa… He know the meaning of ‘Mau kemana?’ –> どこに行く? (doko ni iku?) –> where are you going? He proof it today and reply me ‘mau ke kafetaria’ –> I’m going to cafeteria. Whoaaaa… how fast he learn (makes me daze at him, hahaha…)

We spent all night to see beautiful scenery of Bandung. Thanks guys for last night. Thanks to you as well Kago, you give us such a memorable knowledge.

제발 누가 날 좀 말려

[민지] 옷장을 열어 가장
상큼한 옷을 걸치고
거울에 비친 내 얼굴을
꼼꼼히 살피고
지금은 여덟 시
약속시간은 여덟 시 반

2NE1 delay I’m The Best MV

M/V Release Date

The music video, “I Am The Best“ will now be released two or three days later
than its expected release date, June 24th 00:00 AM.

The problem was that we had set the bar too high..
Might be overambitious for great work? We spent more than twice the amount of money
we had spent on previous videos, and the scale of the video grew larger than expected,
which lengthened the post-production time.

Deepest apologies to all of our fans
and hope you can stay tuned with full support. Thank you.

English

About the First Comeback Stage..

The first comeback stage of 2NE1’s new single, “I Am The Best”
has decided to SBS’s “Inkigayo” on coming Sunday.

The broadcasting station showed consideration to allow 10 min for comeback stage
but YG requested politely to perform only 1 song.

It is normal wish for artists and producers to get even 1 more min for comeback stage
but the reason that YG requested to shorten the length is

we think it’s more important to focus on one complete performance
with more concentration on the final stage of practicing “I Am The Best”.
